Expedia gift card: stay for less, or sell it for cash

An Expedia gift card pays on expedia.com at checkout. Here it is used for hotel stays: the seller books the property, room and dates you priced with you as the guest, sets your email and phone as the contact, and pays with the card. Expedia emails the itinerary number and confirmation to the guest contact — you.
Verifying an Expedia booking made for you
Check the confirmation email, or sign in to expedia.com and open Trips: the itinerary number, the property, the dates and your name as the guest. Calling the property a day later and asking for a reservation under your name is the surest check; it will be in their system by then. Bring ID in the guest name; the room is prepaid, and the desk may want a card of yours for incidentals.
Cancellation, and why the payout waits for the trip
Expedia hotel rates are either free-cancellation until shortly before check-in or non-refundable. A cancellation refunds the payer — the seller's card — so a refundable stay could be undone the evening before you arrive. The seller's payout is therefore held until the day after your check-in, and cancelling a booking made for a buyer ends a seller's account.
What an Expedia gift card is worth here
Expedia gift cards list here at roughly 8–15% off. Typical bookings: a three-night city stay, a resort room over a long weekend, a hotel by the airport before an early flight. Fares and rooms reprice by the hour: up to 5% over the total you saw is the seller's to absorb, more comes back to you to approve. The fee mechanics — 2.5% platform fee, how the discount is matched — are on the travel hub.
Booking Expedia for less
Find the property, room and dates on Expedia and post them on the booking form with the guest name as on ID and the total shown. A seller with the card accepts within the hour of opening it and books within two, with you as the guest and your email as the contact; you pay from your FlipGift balance when they accept, check the itinerary, and the seller is paid the day after you check in.
Selling an Expedia gift card
Expedia cards never expire. List the balance here and spend it on a buyer's hotel stay in their name; the cash reaches you the day after they check in. A paid request gives you an hour from opening it to accept and two to book; the payout waits until the day after the guest checks in, and cancelling a stay you booked for a buyer ends an account here.
