Camping World Gift Card Balance — PIN Required
A Camping World card without a PIN cannot be checked online or used online at all — but a store will swap it for one that has a PIN. That single fact resolves most of the confusion around these cards.
Check Camping World balance on official siteThe PIN problem, and its fix
Some Camping World gift cards were issued without a PIN. Those cards:
- cannot be used online;
- cannot be checked online either.
They are not worthless. Take the card into a Camping World store and it can be exchanged for a new card with a PIN, after which both the website and the balance page work normally. Knowing this saves people from concluding the card is dead.
Checking a card that has a PIN
Open the Check Gift Card Balance page (linked above), enter the gift card number and the gift card PIN, and the balance appears. You can also:
- call 1-800-242-5353;
- ask a cashier at any Camping World store;
- check a recent receipt or the mobile app, both of which show the remaining balance.
RV money is lumpy
Camping World sells everything from $8 sewer hose fittings to awnings and generators, and gift cards get spent in both directions. Two practical notes: check the balance before a trip rather than during one, when the nearest store may be a hundred miles away; and remember that the balance applies to the whole ticket, so it can go toward installation and service as readily as to parts.
If the online form refuses a card that has a PIN
Confirm the number and PIN character by character. Give a card bought in the last few hours time to activate. Check that you are entering the gift card number rather than an order reference. If it still fails, the phone line reads the card itself.
Zero on a card you have not spent
Look at the account the card may have been applied to and any recent in-store receipts. If the card genuinely has not been used, the original purchase receipt is what customer service needs to trace it.
When the RV plans change
Plans change more than gear does, and a Camping World balance can outlive the trip it was given for. On FlipGift you can sell it through escrow and keep the card: the buyer's payment is locked in escrow, you place their Camping World order with your own card, and escrow releases your cash on confirmed delivery. A flat 2.5% fee is split between both sides, and sellers typically keep 72–88% of face value.
