Chewy Gift Card Balance — Check It on Your Account

Chewy is online-only, so its gift card behaves more like an account credit than a plastic card: save it once and the balance is simply there under Gift Cards, applied automatically to your next order.

Save it to the account, then stop thinking about it

Chewy's own advice is the practical one: add the card to your Chewy account and the balance lives there permanently, visible any time under Account → Gift Cards and applied automatically at checkout. There is no store to walk into and no register to ask, so an account is what a Chewy gift card is really for.

The two ways to read a balance

  • Signed in: hover your account menu, open Account, scroll to Gift Cards. Saved cards and the current balance are listed there.
  • Card in hand: enter the card number and PIN on Chewy's gift card page, or read them to the automated line on 1-800-672-4399.

Chewy gift cards do not expire, so a card found months later is worth what it always was.

Autoship and a gift card

Chewy's business runs on repeat delivery, and that is where a gift card quietly does its best work — a balance spread across recurring food orders rather than spent in one go on a bed nobody uses. Add the card to the account first and let the balance draw down naturally.

If the balance does not appear

Check that the card is saved to the account you are actually signed into — a household with two Chewy logins is the most common explanation for a balance that "vanished". Then confirm the card number and PIN, and give a newly purchased card a few hours to activate.

Zero balance you cannot account for

Open the order history for the account the card is attached to; a gift card applied at checkout shows there as a payment. Because Chewy applies a saved balance automatically, cards are more often spent quietly than lost — the balance went into food, on schedule, without anybody choosing it that day.

If you do not have a pet

This is the most re-gifted card category there is: a Chewy card given to someone between pets, or with a fish. Rather than leaving it dormant, you can sell the balance through FlipGift escrow and keep the code entirely: the buyer's money is held in escrow, you place their Chewy order from your own account, and the escrow releases your payment once it is delivered. A flat 2.5% fee is split between both sides, and sellers typically net 72–88% of face value.

Chewy gift card balance — FAQ

How do I check my Chewy gift card balance?

Sign in and open Account → Gift Cards, or enter the card number and PIN on Chewy's gift card page. You can also call 1-800-672-4399.

Do Chewy gift cards expire?

No. Chewy gift cards do not expire, so an unused balance keeps its full value.

Should I save my Chewy gift card to my account?

Yes — that is Chewy's own recommendation. A saved card shows its balance any time under Gift Cards and is applied automatically to your next order.

My Chewy balance disappeared — where did it go?

Check that you are signed into the account the card was saved to, then look at that account's order history. Chewy applies a saved balance automatically, so it is usually spent rather than lost.

Can a Chewy gift card be used on Autoship orders?

A saved gift card balance is applied to orders on the account, which is why adding it to the account first is the practical approach for recurring deliveries.

Can I use a Chewy gift card in a store?

Chewy is an online retailer, so the card is used on chewy.com rather than at a physical register.

Can I sell a Chewy gift card I do not need?

Yes, through FlipGift escrow — you keep the card, place a buyer's Chewy order from your own account, and escrow pays you on confirmed delivery, typically 72–88% of face value.

Don’t need your Chewy card?

Sell it via FlipGift escrow — the code stays with you the whole time. You redeem the card yourself to deliver the buyer’s order, and the buyer’s money is held until delivery is confirmed. Sellers typically net 72–88% of face value.
