Chico's Gift Card Balance — Check It Online
Chico's FAS runs three brands, and shoppers reasonably assume one gift card covers all of them. That is worth checking rather than assuming. The balance itself takes a 16-digit number and a 4-digit PIN.
Check Chico's balance on official siteThe sister-brand question, answered carefully
Chico's FAS runs three retail brands — Chico's, White House Black Market and Soma — and shared ownership makes people assume shared gift cards. Do not assume it.
What is documented: White House Black Market's own gift card terms confine a WHBM card to WHBM boutiques, WHBM outlets and whitehouseblackmarket.com, and say nothing about Chico's or Soma. Whether a Chico's card is accepted the other way is a question for a register or customer service before you travel — one phone call, and you know rather than hope.
That is not a small distinction. A card carried to the wrong sister boutique on an assumption is a wasted trip, and the assumption is easy to make.
Checking the balance
You need two numbers from the back of the card:
- the 16-digit gift card number;
- the 4-digit PIN.
Enter them on the Chico's gift cards page (linked above) and the balance appears. There is no charge and no account needed.
In store or by phone
Any Chico's location can check a card at the register, and the toll-free line on the back of the card handles balance questions. In store is the workaround for a PIN that has been scratched past reading — the register scans the card rather than the printed digits.
Why these balances wait
Chico's sells to a customer who buys deliberately: a jacket for a trip, an outfit for an event. A card bought in December is often spent in March, and that is normal rather than a sign of a forgotten balance. Nothing is deducted for waiting; the only cost is losing track of the number.
When the check fails
Count the digits — 16 and 4. Confirm it is the card number rather than a receipt reference. Paste eGift codes from the email. Give a newly purchased card a few hours before assuming it is empty.
A zero you cannot explain
Start with the household and with your own Chico's order history — a card is spent across several visits here rather than in one basket, so a zero is usually accumulated rather than sudden. If the card is genuinely untouched, the purchase receipt is what customer service needs to trace whether it was activated at the till.
If none of the three is your shop
Three brands is a wide net, but it is still one company's taste. You can sell a Chico's balance through FlipGift escrow and keep the card entirely: the buyer's payment is frozen in escrow, you place their order with your own card, and you are paid once it arrives. The fee is a flat 2.5% split between both sides and sellers typically net 72–88% of face value — with the card number never leaving your hands.
