Can you sell a Google Play gift card on FlipGift?

No. A Google Play code loads into a Google account and buys apps, games and subscriptions there — nothing a seller could order and ship to someone else, which is how FlipGift's escrow works.

Who buys Google Play cards

Very few, and for a reason. In our September 2026 check, Google Play wasn't on CardCash's list of cards it buys, and GCX restricts it — no cards over $200, and sellers must agree to extra terms before listing. Buy-back sites are wary because Google Play is one of the cards scammers ask victims to buy.

The scam to know about

The FTC's gift card scam guidance names it directly: scammers "will say almost anything to get you to buy gift cards — like Google Play, Apple, or Amazon cards — and hand over the card number and PIN codes." If you bought a Google Play card because someone told you to, don't send the code — report it to Google and the FTC.

Using the balance instead

Redeem the code at play.google.com/redeem or in the Play Store while signed in; the credit then shows under Payments & subscriptions and applies at checkout, including to subscriptions. Details in the Google Play balance guide.
