How to Check Your Apple Gift Card Balance

Check your Apple Gift Card balance in the App Store or Settings, plus honest advice on using Apple Account credit you don't need.

This balance can only be checked in store or at checkout — there is no public online checker.

The Apple Gift Card is a single card that covers everything Apple — the App Store, iCloud+, Apple Music, and hardware at the Apple Store. It's redeemed by adding the code to your Apple Account, and once added the value lives on your Apple ID rather than the card.

Checking your Apple Gift Card balance

  1. Redeem or check via the Apple balance link above, or open the App Store on your device.
  2. Tap your profile photo; your Apple Account balance shows at the top once a card is redeemed.
  3. To add a new card, choose "Redeem Gift Card" and enter the code under the scratch panel.

  • The Apple Gift Card code (a physical card hides it under a silver scratch-off strip).
  • Your Apple Account sign-in to view or add the balance.

Other ways to check

On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, and the balance appears; on iPhone or iPad it's under Settings → your name → Media & Purchases. There's no separate PIN — the redemption code is all you need.

If the balance won't load

An un-redeemed card shows no balance until you add the code to your Apple Account. If redemption fails, the code may have been entered already or mistyped — the characters are easy to confuse under the scratch coating.

Apple Account balance at $0?

Apple Account balance is spent automatically on App Store buys, subscriptions, and iCloud+ before your card is charged, so it quietly runs down over time. Check your purchase history in the App Store. Remember that once a code is redeemed it can't be un-applied or moved to another Apple ID.

The online checker usually needs both the card number and PIN. Without the PIN, check your balance in store or by contacting Apple customer service.

Can I combine multiple Apple gift cards?

Apple usually lets you apply more than one gift card to a single order at checkout. The exact limit depends on the platform (online vs. in store) — if a card isn’t accepted at the register, try splitting payment online instead.

What should I do if my Apple gift card is lost or stolen?

If you registered the card or have the original receipt, contact Apple customer service as soon as possible. Without a receipt or registration, gift cards generally cannot be replaced — treat them like cash and record the number and PIN somewhere safe right after purchase.

Can I get cash back for an Apple gift card?
