Sell your Apple / iTunes gift card for cash without handing anyone the number or PIN. You use the card to pay for a buyer's Apple / iTunes order, their money waits in escrow, and it's released to you when the order arrives — typically 72–88% of face value, against the 60–85% buy-back sites pay after taking the code.

Why Apple / iTunes gift cards go unused

Apple cards strand with Android users and anyone whose subscriptions already bill to a card.

Which Apple cards can fill an order

Apple has issued three kinds of gift card, and all three can pay for hardware — which is what buyers here order from apple.com:

  • Apple Gift Card (the current one) pays for products and for App Store content alike.
  • App Store & iTunes Gift Card (the previous generation) redeems into your Apple Account balance, and Apple says that balance pays for "Apple products, accessories, apps, games, music…". An old iTunes card can cover AirPods.
  • Apple Store Gift Card (older, products only) is still valid and buys exactly what buyers want: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch, AirPods and accessories. It can't go into your Account balance, so you enter it at checkout.

Before you accept an Apple order:

  • No P.O. boxes. Apple ships online orders within the continental US, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico only — never to P.O. boxes or U.S. territories.
  • US cards, US account. A card bought in the United States works only with a US Apple Account.
  • Up to eight gift cards per order at apple.com, alongside your Account balance. Several cards? List them together as one balance and they can fill one bigger order, like a MacBook.
  • Proof is the apple.com order, not the card. Upload the order confirmation and the carrier's tracking number. A photo of the gift card proves nothing and is refused, and Apple's order number (W…) goes in the screenshot, not the tracking field.

Before you list: check your Apple balance

Apple lets you check the balance in store, at a register, and you will need the PIN from the back of the card.

  1. Redeem or check via the Apple balance link, or open the App Store on your device.
  2. Tap your profile photo; your Apple Account balance shows at the top once a card is redeemed.
  3. To add a new card, choose "Redeem Gift Card" and enter the code under the scratch panel.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to share my Apple / iTunes card number or PIN to sell it?

No. You keep the card and use it to pay for a buyer's Apple / iTunes order yourself — the number and PIN are never typed into any site or handed to anyone.

How much will I get for my Apple / iTunes gift card?

Typically 72–88% of face value: you set the discount, the buyer pays that price into escrow, and you keep it minus a 2.5% seller fee and the 2% withdrawal fee. Buy-back sites usually pay 60–85% and take the code first.

How fast do I get paid for my Apple / iTunes card?

When the buyer confirms their Apple / iTunes order arrived — or automatically about 16 days after it ships if they never respond. You can then withdraw as crypto or a digital prepaid Visa card.

Can I exchange an iTunes gift card for cash?

Not with Apple — its terms say gift cards aren't redeemable for cash. But an App Store & iTunes card redeemed into your Apple Account balance pays for Apple hardware on apple.com, so it can fill a buyer's order for AirPods or an iPad here. Escrow pays you when they confirm delivery, and the code never leaves you.

Can I sell an Apple Store gift card?

Yes. The older Apple Store Gift Card only buys physical products — iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch, AirPods and accessories — and that's exactly what buyers here order from apple.com. It can't be added to your Apple Account balance, so you enter it at checkout; apple.com takes up to eight gift cards per order.
