Container Store Gift Card Balance — 24-Hour Line
The Container Store answers balance questions at any hour: the toll-free line runs 24 hours a day, and the site has its own Check Your Balance page. One warning first, for anyone who arrived here by redirect.
Check The Container Store balance on official siteIf a Kirkland's link sent you here
Kirkland's own gift card page now redirects to containerstore.com, and that redirect is misleading: a Kirkland's Home or Bed Bath & Beyond Home gift card is not accepted by The Container Store. Those cards are in-store only at their own banners — the Kirkland's balance page sets out what to do with one. Two different companies, two different card programmes, one confusing redirect.
Checking a Container Store card
Open the Check Your Balance page (linked above) and enter your card details, or:
- Call 1-877-877-0032, available 24 hours a day — unusual for retail, and genuinely useful when you are planning a closet project at midnight;
- Ask in any Container Store, where the register reads the card directly.
Elfa, custom spaces and why the balance matters early
The Container Store sells a lot of designed-to-fit storage, and those are quoted projects rather than shelf purchases. A gift card is far more useful as an input to the design conversation than as a surprise at the end of it — walk in knowing the number, and the designer can plan the system around it.
When the form will not take the card
Enter the number by hand rather than pasting it, confirm you are using the gift card number rather than an order reference, and give a newly bought card a few hours to activate. If none of that helps, the 24-hour line reads the card itself and is faster than a second attempt.
A zero balance you did not expect
Storage projects consume a card quickly — a single Elfa run does it. Check recent orders and in-store receipts first, then keep the purchase receipt for customer service if the card should genuinely be untouched.
If the project is not happening
A card bought for a home organisation plan that never started is common, and there is no rule that says you must spend it to get value from it. On FlipGift you can sell a Container Store balance through escrow and keep the card the whole time: the buyer's payment is locked in escrow first, you place their order with your own card, and escrow releases your cash on confirmed delivery. Both sides split a flat 2.5% fee and sellers typically keep 72–88% of face value.
