YETI Gift Card Balance — Email Code Required

YETI verifies a balance check by emailing you a 6-digit code that expires in 15 minutes. And the cards spend on YETI.com only — retail locations are excluded.

Two things that surprise people

The check is verified by email. YETI's balance checker sends a 6-digit code to your email address, and that code expires in 15 minutes. If it has not arrived after a couple of minutes, look in junk mail before requesting another. It is a stronger step than most retailers use, and it means you need access to the inbox as well as the card.

The card is online-only. YETI gift cards are redeemable on YETI.com only — YETI retail locations are excluded. A card carried into a store will not be taken, and that is the design rather than a store's decision.

Checking it

Open the balance checker (linked above), supply the card details and your email, then enter the 6-digit code when it lands. The balance is shown once the code is accepted.

Coolers are a considered purchase

A hard cooler runs into the hundreds, and drinkware is $30. A YETI card therefore lands either as a contribution to something large or as the whole of something small, and the exact balance decides which conversation you are having. Check before you build the cart, not at the payment step.

When the code does not arrive

Check junk mail. Confirm the address you entered is the one you can actually open right now — a work address you cannot reach from your phone is a common self-inflicted delay. And remember the 15-minute window: a code found an hour later is expired, not broken.

Zero on a card you have not spent

One cooler does it. Look at the order the card might have gone against first, then contact YETI with the purchase receipt if the card should genuinely be untouched.

If the gear is not for you

A YETI card is a narrow gift — the brand, the price point and the use case all have to fit. If they do not, you can sell the balance through FlipGift escrow and keep the card: a buyer's payment is locked in escrow, you place their YETI order with your own card, and escrow releases your cash on confirmed delivery. A flat 2.5% fee is split between both sides, and sellers typically keep 72–88% of face value.

YETI gift card balance — FAQ

Why does YETI email me a code to check my balance?

YETI verifies balance checks with a 6-digit code sent to your email. It expires in 15 minutes, so request it when you are able to open the inbox.

Can I use a YETI gift card in a YETI store?

No. YETI gift cards are redeemable on YETI.com only — retail locations are excluded.

The code has not arrived — what now?

Check junk mail after a couple of minutes, and confirm the address you entered is one you can open right now. A code older than 15 minutes has expired and needs re-requesting.

Do I need an account to check a YETI balance?

You need access to the email address the code is sent to; the check itself is done on YETI's balance page.

Can a YETI gift card cover part of an order?

Yes. It is applied to the order total and the remainder goes to your other payment method.

Is checking a YETI gift card balance free?

Yes, and the check does not reduce the card.

Can I sell a YETI gift card?

Yes, through FlipGift escrow — you keep the card, fulfil a buyer's YETI order with it, and are paid on confirmed delivery, typically 72–88% of face value.

Don’t need your YETI card?

Sell it via FlipGift escrow — the code stays with you the whole time. You redeem the card yourself to deliver the buyer’s order, and the buyer’s money is held until delivery is confirmed. Sellers typically net 72–88% of face value.
