Sell your TJ Maxx gift card for cash without handing anyone the number or PIN. You use the card to pay for a buyer's TJ Maxx order, their money waits in escrow, and it's released to you when the order arrives — typically 72–88% of face value, against the 60–85% buy-back sites pay after taking the code.

Why TJ Maxx gift cards go unused

TJX cards work across TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods — but only if you visit; online use is where they stall.

One card for T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and Sierra

A T.J. Maxx gift card is a TJX card, and TJX's own help pages set how it pays online:

  • Four websites. The card works at tjmaxx.com, marshalls.com, homegoods.com and sierra.com. If you'd rather fill Marshalls orders, list the card under Marshalls here instead.
  • 19-digit number and security code. A card without a CSC can't be used online at all, only in a store.
  • One credit card on top. The card combines with TJX Rewards certificates, promo codes and one credit card. Guest checkout works, and the billing address must be in the continental U.S. or Puerto Rico.
  • No changes after you order. tjmaxx.com can't cancel or change an order once it's placed, and it may cancel orders for loss prevention. Check the buyer's address before you pay: one shipping address per order, P.O. boxes and APO/FPO are fine, U.S. territories are not, and orders of $1,000 or more need a signature.
  • Returns become merchandise credit for T.J. Maxx stores, not money back on a card, and that credit can't pay an online order. A problem with the buyer's item is settled on the FlipGift deal.

How to sell your TJ Maxx card the safe way

  1. List your TJ Maxx card — brand and balance only, never the code.
  2. A buyer who wants brand-name clothing from TJ Maxx pays for their order into escrow.
  3. You place their order with your card and upload the confirmation and tracking.
  4. When they confirm delivery, escrow pays you.

Before you list: check your T.J.Maxx balance

T.J.Maxx lets you check the balance online, on the issuer’s balance page, and you will need the PIN from the back of the card.

  1. Open the official T.J.Maxx balance page.
  2. Enter the card number.
  3. Enter the PIN from the back.
  4. Submit to see the balance.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to share my TJ Maxx card number or PIN to sell it?

No. You keep the card and use it to pay for a buyer's TJ Maxx order yourself — the number and PIN are never typed into any site or handed to anyone.

How much will I get for my TJ Maxx gift card?

Typically 72–88% of face value: you set the discount, the buyer pays that price into escrow, and you keep it minus a 2.5% seller fee and the 2% withdrawal fee. Buy-back sites usually pay 60–85% and take the code first.

How fast do I get paid for my TJ Maxx card?

When the buyer confirms their TJ Maxx order arrived — or automatically about 16 days after it ships if they never respond. You can then withdraw as crypto or a digital prepaid Visa card.

Can I sell a T.J. Maxx gift card?

Not back to T.J. Maxx: gift cards can't be returned. Here you keep the card and use it to pay for a buyer's order on tjmaxx.com, marshalls.com, homegoods.com or sierra.com. Their money waits in escrow and is released to you when they confirm delivery, typically 72–88% of face value.

Does a T.J. Maxx gift card work at Marshalls and HomeGoods?

Yes. T.J. Maxx gift cards and e-gift cards can be redeemed at tjmaxx.com, marshalls.com, homegoods.com and sierra.com, and in T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods stores; TJX's gift card page adds Homesense and Sierra stores. To go online, the card needs its 19-digit number and security code.
