Sell Your Walmart Gift Card for Cash

Sell your Walmart gift card for cash without handing anyone the number or PIN. You use the card to pay for a buyer's Walmart order, their money waits in escrow, and it's released to you when the order arrives — typically 72–88% of face value, against the 60–85% buy-back sites pay after taking the code.

Why Walmart gift cards go unused

Walmart cards often come from returns, rebates and corporate gifting — and with no convenient Supercenter nearby, the balance goes unused.

Using a Walmart card on a buyer's walmart.com order

A Walmart gift card works online at walmart.com, in the app and in stores — and at Sam's Club and samsclub.com too. For a deal here, walmart.com is where it earns: you place the buyer's order on your own account and it ships to their address.

  • Marketplace items are fine. Walmart confirms gift cards pay for items from third-party Walmart Marketplace sellers, in the same checkout as everything else.
  • What it won't pay for: other gift cards, precious metals, financial products, and a Walmart+ membership (that needs a credit or debit card or PayPal).
  • List the balance you're sure of. Walmart calls the balance it shows online or by phone "an estimate only". If the card comes up short at checkout, the gap is yours to cover — so a few dollars of margin is worth leaving.
  • Don't sit on a physical card. Walmart doesn't replace lost or stolen gift cards, and a card you can't find can't fill anything.
  • Tracking, not the order number. Walmart order numbers (13 digits starting with 20, or two blocks like 1234567-12345678) go in the order screenshot; the tracking field wants the carrier's number and refuses them.

How to sell your Walmart card the safe way

  1. List your Walmart card — brand and balance only, never the code.
  2. A buyer who wants groceries from Walmart pays for their order into escrow.
  3. You place their order with your card and upload the confirmation and tracking.
  4. When they confirm delivery, escrow pays you.

Before you list: check your Walmart balance

Walmart lets you check the balance online, on the issuer’s balance page, and you will need the PIN from the back of the card. May show "technical issue" first try — retry once.

  1. Open the official Walmart gift-card balance page.
  2. Enter the card number.
  3. Enter the PIN from behind the scratch panel.
  4. Submit — and if it errors, reload and retry once.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to share my Walmart card number or PIN to sell it?

No. You keep the card and use it to pay for a buyer's Walmart order yourself — the number and PIN are never typed into any site or handed to anyone.

How much will I get for my Walmart gift card?

Typically 72–88% of face value: you set the discount, the buyer pays that price into escrow, and you keep it minus a 2.5% seller fee and the 2% withdrawal fee. Buy-back sites usually pay 60–85% and take the code first.

How fast do I get paid for my Walmart card?

When the buyer confirms their Walmart order arrived — or automatically about 16 days after it ships if they never respond. You can then withdraw as crypto or a digital prepaid Visa card.

Can I sell a Walmart gift card for Cash App?

Not straight to Cash App. You use the card on a buyer's walmart.com order, and escrow pays your FlipGift balance when they confirm delivery. From there you withdraw as crypto to a wallet address you give, or as a digital prepaid Visa card that works anywhere Visa is accepted in the US. Withdrawals cost 2% (minimum $2, capped at $25).

Who buys Walmart gift cards?

Here, other shoppers do — people who want something from walmart.com and pay a discounted price for it into escrow. You don't sell them the card: you place their order with it, so the number and PIN never leave you. Buy-back sites buy Walmart cards too, but they need the code and keep 15–25% of its value.
