Sell Your Target Gift Card for Cash

Sell your Target gift card for cash without handing anyone the number or PIN. You use the card to pay for a buyer's Target order, their money waits in escrow, and it's released to you when the order arrives — typically 72–88% of face value, against the 60–85% buy-back sites pay after taking the code.

Why Target gift cards go unused

Target cards are a default gift and registry filler — easy to end up with several when you shop elsewhere.

What a Target GiftCard will and won't pay for

Target GiftCards pay for Target.com orders, and the rules Target publishes decide which buyer orders you can fill:

  • Up to 10 GiftCards per order, in store or online. Several smaller cards? List them together on FlipGift as one balance and they can fill one bigger order.
  • GiftCards are charged first. If the order costs more, Target puts the rest on your credit or debit card — but the buyer's discount applies to the whole order, so take orders your cards cover.
  • Ship to home, not Shipt. Shipt same-day delivery doesn't accept store gift cards; a regular Target.com delivery does. Target doesn't ship to international freight forwarders, and some large items can't go to P.O. boxes — the item's Shipping section says so.
  • Email and text GiftCards need a Target account to open and redeem — the same account you'll place the buyer's order from.
  • Not for Target Circle Card payments or buying other gift cards.
  • Tracking, not the order number. Target order numbers start with 102 and belong in the order screenshot; the tracking field takes the carrier's number and refuses them.

How to sell your Target card the safe way

  1. List your Target card — brand and balance only, never the code.
  2. A buyer who wants home decor from Target pays for their order into escrow.
  3. You place their order with your card and upload the confirmation and tracking.
  4. When they confirm delivery, escrow pays you.

  1. Open the official Target gift-card balance page linked above.
  2. Enter the card (or eGift) number.
  3. Enter the access code from behind the scratch panel.
  4. Submit to see the live total.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to share my Target card number or PIN to sell it?

No. You keep the card and use it to pay for a buyer's Target order yourself — the number and PIN are never typed into any site or handed to anyone.

How much will I get for my Target gift card?

Typically 72–88% of face value: you set the discount, the buyer pays that price into escrow, and you keep it minus a 2.5% seller fee and the 2% withdrawal fee. Buy-back sites usually pay 60–85% and take the code first.

How fast do I get paid for my Target card?

When the buyer confirms their Target order arrived — or automatically about 16 days after it ships if they never respond. You can then withdraw as crypto or a digital prepaid Visa card.

Can I sell a Target gift card for PayPal?

FlipGift doesn't pay out to PayPal. You spend the card on a buyer's Target.com order; when they confirm delivery, escrow moves the money to your FlipGift balance, and you withdraw it as crypto to your own wallet address or as a digital prepaid Visa card for use in the US. The withdrawal fee is 2%, at least $2 and never more than $25.

Is there a Target gift card exchange or trade-in?

Target itself won't swap one: GiftCards can't be used to buy other gift cards. Trade-in sites buy them for the code at a discount. Here you keep the card and use it on a buyer's Target.com order instead, and escrow pays you when it arrives — sellers typically net 72–88% of face value.
